Seattle Public Schools are facing an unprecedented crisis. SCPTSA works with the Superintendent and School Board on behalf of parents, teachers and students of SPS. Given the position and influence of SCPTSA, we believe this is an opportunity to unify our voices in support of Seattle's 48,000 students and 7,000 educators and staff members.
Our Vision For SCPTSA:
Cohesive relationships between PTSAs citywide to create community, shared resources, and open access to information
Trust through transparency, open communication, and consistent meetings between SPS decision makers and PTSA Leaders
Unified PTSAs lobbying the state to fund education at legally mandated levels
If Elected We Commit To:
Building a collective voice to advocate for all children, centering students furthest from educational justice
PTSA support including executive board training, leadership transition support, and sharing of best practices
Investing PTSA resources in communities that need help, when they need help
We are a group of passionate SPS parents from across the city who believe that SPS and SCPTSA should transparently share information, collaborate with, and listen to all voices. By engaging with multiple points of view, we can foster more inclusive dialogue, identify common ground, and develop more effective solutions to benefit our community.
United We Thrive Are:
Leaders with first-hand experience serving on local PTSAs
Change makers with policy and legislative experience
Community builders skilled at creating connections, listening, and finding the heart of the problem
Note: each position is elected separately
